Process & exploration
Houdini and procedural workflows
This university project explored Houdini’s node-based procedural workflow and its use in building simulations and effects. The case study documents early tests, product development, modeling, texturing and the final advertisement.
Simulation exploration
The project tested rigid-body dynamics, fluid and particle effects, including a portal simulation built with a POP network and composited in After Effects.
Rigid-body and dynamics tests
Balloon and fluid-tank simulations
Particle advection
Portal effect using a POP network
The source case study also includes five short simulation-test clips; the final render video is linked separately.

Outcome & reflection
Final render
The result is a 10-second product advertisement for an original energy drink concept. The source case study includes the final render video and supporting simulation, concept and production imagery.
